Food Trip Friday 016: Korean lunch special

Hello FTF friends. Once again, I am coming back for this week's photo-meme and I am bringing one of the lunch specials that I recently had at the Korean Grill located inside NagaWorld Hotel in Phnom Penh.

Bibimbap, (above left, and, up close, below pics), is a typical Korean meal of rice mixed with different vegetables. An order of bibimbap is usually accompanied by a bowl of seaweed soup and an array of side dishes, including the ever-present kimchi.

The food was not that great but not too bad as well. I had better Korean dishes before and, hindi man sa pagbubuhat ng sariling bangko, I can whip up a mean bibimbap myself! I also had to request for a stronger (read: hotter) gochugang paste because the one that came with my order was not spicy/hot enough to even tickle my taste buds. The dessert served was a funky tasting blend of yogurt and jello that we didn't bother finishing after our first taste. How I wished, though, that their ginger tea drink was bottomless, otherwise, it was very costly for one teapot.

All in all, we had a good dining experience there... the company of friends I was with was awesome and the chatters were endless. The ambience was great, and the servers were attentive to our needs. Perhaps, the cook/s was/were having a bad day when we went there, who knows. I wouldn't mind going back there again to sample other Korean fares but only if and only invited to.
