Food Trip Friday 065: Jackfruit!

When my landlord and his family returned to Phnom Penh after spending their New Year holidays in his hometown in Stung Treng, they brought us a lot of things for pasalubong! One of them was this medium-sized khnao, or jackfruit, that I cut in half. The sweet scent of khnao filled our kitchen for several days.

I don’t really like jackfruit eaten as it is but I love it when it’s made into a smoothie. A perfect thirst-quencher.

Me neither, I'm not fond of eating jackfruit. Maybe the smoothie does taste better, as you say :)

I live where jackfruits are reachable by a stretch of an arm... :) I love them but when I came home sometime in 2005 I had an itchy throat after eating 1 flesh...I knew then and there I'm allergic :( Gotta hate leaving Pinas for that! lol

I am drooling, I miss fresh langka!

Come and have some Mexican food at Spice Up Your Life blog, happy Easter!

The langka is one of the fruits I don't eat... pero funny, I love eating the boiled langka seeds, I do eat the ginataang langka, and at times I eat the sweetened langka in my Halo-Halo. Pero yung ripe fresh fruit, ayoko talaga.

Hopping here from Food Trip Friday, if you have time, please check out my foodie experience at Felicity Patisserie, my FTF post this week. Thanks a lot!

Meron pa? Pahingi! Hehehe. I love langka. I eat it raw, put it in a turon, or ginataang halo-halo. I have never tried making it a smoothie though.
